wow...I'm really not good at this blogging thing. I guess I'll have to make a resolution to come here once a week at least...rather than every month (or 4). I have no reason not to, well, unless the 3 1/2 year old kidlet that is home with me every day is highly demanding, but I really can't honestly say that she is that way on a daily basis, so I should have a chance at some point each week, right?

In October, as part of a contest, I scrapped 31 layouts in a month. To be honest, I scrapped 6 layouts and a card between Oct 1-24 and then did the other 25 within ONE WEEK. Yes, it's got to be some kind of personal record. I was so scrapped out that last weekend, when my BFF came over to scrap, I had trouble finding motivation. I did to a few pages, but it was not easy for me. So, I'm on a break. Maybe I'll reorganize and declutter and find some 'ganas' (Spanish for 'the will', 'the want to', 'the urge') and start scrapping again soon.

In the meantime, I'm not totally ignoring my supplies. On Tuesday night, my kids and I sat down to help my Kindergartener decorate a turkey. It was a printout of a turkey and the assignment was to use things we have around the house to decorate it. It was to be done as a family. Honey had to work, so he couldn't join us, but the kids and I had fun. We used macaroni and beans from the kitchen and I pulled out some buttons, glitter, flowers, ribbon and some fuzzy balls (from another project) from my craft supplies. Everyone wins a prize for doing it, so it's not really a contest, but I think it turned out pretty good. My son even cut out some hair from a picture in a magazine and we stuck it on the Turkey's head. Lots of fun.

I have plans to make some styrofoam turkeys too. I saw the idea in Scrapbooks, Etc. You spray paint and attach (one on top of the other) 2 styrofoam balls, then cover them in buttons (brown in the pic, but you could do whatever you want), add some feathers, eyes and a beak. It looks so cute and I know that the youngest 2 will love it and I suspect the older 2 will have fun with it too, even if they don't admit it (they ARE teens after all). I think I'll spray paint the styrofoam today so that it's dry and this weekend we can finish them up (or maybe tonight, if all goes well). In the past, I haven't done a lot of decorating, simply because by the time I got home from work, fed kids, etc, I was too tired to deal with decorating too. Now that I'm home, WHY NOT?!

So, I promise to come back a bit more often, hopefully with some accountability details.

Until then...Happy Scrapping!!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes... accountablility is a good thing. I'm going to keep my eye on you! 31 lay-outs... whew! You make seriously steep goals!

I have your blog and added it to my list. I have updated mine too (it had only been nine months). lol

We had to do a turkey project this weekend too. We made him a baseball player - imagine that. It was fun.

Any scrapping this past weekend for you?

I always say I'm going to USE what I have, but inevitably, I find more to buy even if I haven't scrapped in weeks. I am addicted! So, here is where I'm going to try to update with what I use and what I buy...so that I can try to make some sense of it and actually use things I buy.
